Browsing through Facebook and came across this post today. Sister Miranda Johnson and Sister Parker just had another baptism today. What wonderful members in the Ayr, Scotland ward. "Baptism today of Niall Brunton, taught by our outstanding sister missionaries and the members of the ward! — with Miranda Johnson and Bailey Alyssa Parker."

Happy Mothers Day Yesturday!

It feels a bit awkward to email right now because yesturday I got to Skype. Not much has happened this week, on Monday the District came to the Ayr Ward and we ate Haggis. I don't particularly like Haggis, I like it as much as I like Peanut Butter. Which means I'll eat it with other stuff but I rather not have it at all. On Monday that was it, Tuesday Sister Parker and I woke up at 5am to take a train to Glasgow then to Edinburgh for a conference. It was a combination of Paisley, Glasgow and Edinburgh Zone. There was a lot of different stuff talked about but as usual I got that I need to be a better missionary than I am. Wednesday we taught Daniel again, he's doing really well. Daniel didn't come to Church this Sunday because on Friday he went to a Priesthood activity and is still in pain from the effort.  Daniel is praying everyday night and morning, he says that since he started doing that he's felt an peace in his life and doesn't worry about things that he used to. I think Daniel is going to be a spiritual giant in a few years if he keeps going like he is. Paula and Niall was suppose to get baptized together this weekend but Paula wasn't ready for it. Niall got baptized though and it was so cool. On Sunday he received the Holy Ghost and the Aaronic Priesthood! My recent convert Chris got to bless the sacrament for the first time this Sunday! I'm so proud of everyone, they grow up so fast! 

Really besides from all of this not much has happened this week. Probably only have 2 weeks left in Ayr not, which is really sad. I'm going to feel sorry to leave all of the wonderful people I've been fortunate to teach. I love being a missionary on weeks like this, making friends and helping them find Christ. I found a scripture last week that stuck with me in Hebrews 5 8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Through the things Christ experience he was made perfect. He went through all the struggles we've been through, the purpose of him and us coming here is to gain experience. But it's only by obedience during these trials and enduring well that we can gain eternal salvation, becoming who we are meant to be.

20th Birthday Celebrations

Hello All of you! 

This week has been pretty good we went to a Calzean Castle, I don't have the photos yet from a member but next week I'll send some for sure. It's been really nice weather here in Scotland, we were in the sunshine all this week and had to put on Sunscreen!! I love the sun so much it makes missionary work feel so much easier. I'm so excited for summer, thinking back into December and January, it was really cold and wet. 😢 Oh well that's all in the past I'm going to be home before that starts again. Apparently this was the driest winter they've had in the past 15 years, I'm really grateful for that. Besides the weather, we've had a good week of miracles. My favourite day was Tuesday, we taught a few new people. There is this new guy we are teaching named Daniel, he's in a wheel chair because of back problems. Daniel was so touched by the spirit and the promise blessings of peace and love in his life. As we shared our testimonies of Christ and his atonement, Daniel started tearing up and at the end told us that this is the first time he's felt comfort and hope in the past 14 years of being in a wheel chair. He's only 24, so it'll be good for him to go to institute and make new friends as well. On Tuesday we had our first Game Night, we came up with having an activity where we could bring together our recent converts, investigators and members together. Bishop brought some board games for all of us to play. I played against Bishop that night, I think I might've threatened his life when he took a card from me in a game of exploding cats... In the end of the evening they pulled out a chocolate cake and sung Happy Birthday to me. I never know what to do when people sing that song to me, do you stand there smiling, do you look at the ground, do you sing along???

Jason, a young man we haven't seen in a while came with his Mum, Nikki. Nikki came to church on Sunday and loved it. The members were really warm and friendly to Nikki and invited her to a relief society activity that's coming up. We saw Chris and taught his dad on Sunday, it went pretty well and the Spirit was strong. Chris enjoyed Tuesday as well, there was a train board game called Ticket to Ride. Sister Parker played against him and said to him, "I care about your salvation, but I will destroy you at board games!"

Paula a woman that we've been teaching for a while had her heart set on getting baptized in the sea, she thought it would be more spiritual. Unfortunately the Ward wasn't too happy with the idea because of the pollution and how cold the water is. Fortunately yesterday we were able to get her to be okay with the idea of going in the font. Hopefully she and Neil will be baptized this weekend. We promised that we'll have a picnic on the beach together to make up for it. 

Sister Parker sweet talked an old man into giving us free grapes and when another old man asked if it's the Mormons that do polygamy, Parker said Actually I think it's the Jehovah witnesses... I told the man at the fruit stand that we take the bus from america to get here and Trumps grandmother was from Ayr, Scotland. All of this happened on Saturday, we're a menace to old men that day.

May 1, 2017 Miranda's Birthday Week

Hello Everyone,

So It's my birthday on Wednesday, I'll be twenty it's so weird to get turning into an adult...

Anyway this week I can't really remember what has happened, it was a blur and felt so long ago. Fortunately Sister Parker is better now so we were able to start doing missionary work again. The week mostly consisted of walking up and down the streets trying to find people to talk to us. We weren't able to find many people this week but that's okay. We did alot of work with our most solid people, Chris is doing so well being a new member. He passed the Sacrament for the first time this Sunday! Paula wasn't able to get baptised on Saturday because she broke the Word of Wisdom and drank cocktails the night before. Neil is still doing well, we have the date set for the 13th of May for both of them.
On Tuesday Neil drove us, Paula and Chris to a dinner appointment at the Cairn's home. Paula and Sister Cairns bonded over being diabetic. Chris wasn't feeling too well. Neil can't eat anything but fish, mushrooms and sweet corn, with zero seasoning. I played a Bugal which was sitting in their home (I still got the ability). Sister Parker was smiling. Over all it was a pretty good appointment.

I'm pretty excited for the coming week we have a bunch of appointments set up and it should be pretty successful week. Today we are going to a castle, I'm really excited!
